Banking News – Langtang National Park has recorded a decline in both tourist arrivals and revenue collection during the current fiscal year, prompting park authorities to place greater emphasis on promoting local tourism while strengthening conservation efforts.

According to park statistics, around 56,000 tourists visited the national park in the previous fiscal year. In the current fiscal year, however, only 50,360 visitors have entered the park so far.
Of the total visitors, 39,011 were domestic tourists, 788 were from SAARC member countries, and 10,561 were from other countries.
The drop in visitor numbers has also affected revenue collection. The park generated Rs 57.7 million in revenue during the previous fiscal year, while revenue collected so far in the current fiscal year stands at Rs 42.82 million, according to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, Information Officer at Langtang National Park.
Langtang National Park, home to Nepal’s renowned Himalayan trekking routes and the sacred pilgrimage site of Gosaikunda, has long been a major destination for both domestic and international visitors.
Revenue generated from tourism plays a significant role in supporting park conservation, biodiversity management, and the livelihoods of local communities.
