Banking News – A total of 637 individuals have obtained permits for climbing 18 mountains in the autumn season. According to the Department of Tourism, 637 climbers from 68 teams have obtained permits for climbing various mountains in Nepal in the autumn season of 2026. Suraj Ghimire, Information Officer of the Department, informed that 474 males and 163 females have obtained climbing permits for 18 mountains. The Department has collected Rs 23 crore 85 lakh 17 thousand 797 in royalty from climbers for granting climbing permits.

Among the mountains for which climbing permits have been granted, Manaslu (8,163 meters) has the highest number. For Manaslu climbing alone, 500 climbers from 43 teams have obtained permits. The Department has collected Rs 22 crore 58 lakh 57 thousand 189 in royalty from them. According to the Department, 34 individuals from four teams have obtained climbing permits for Dhaulagiri-1, 20 individuals from two teams for Putha Hiunchuli, 16 individuals from two teams for Danga Hiunchuli, and 10 individuals from one team for Baruntse Himal.

Similarly, the Department has stated that permits have been granted for mountains including Makalu, Gangapurna West (Langchenel), Thorong Peak, Norbu Khang, Annapurna-4, Chamlang, Lamjung Himal, Pumori, Saribung, Thapa Peak (Dhampus), Pokhar Khang, Ardang, and Peri. The Department has earned $15 lakh 68 thousand 734 USD, or Rs 23 crore 85 lakh 17 thousand 797, from the climbing permits issued for those mountains.
