Banking News – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki has called an emergency meeting of the Police Coordination Committee (PCC). The meeting, scheduled to be held at Nepal Police Headquarters today at 2 PM, has been called with the participation of Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs), who are the police chiefs of all seven provinces, as well as Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) working within the Kathmandu Valley.

According to Nepal Police Headquarters, all provincial DIGs have been instructed to be present at the headquarters in Kathmandu between 12 noon and 12:30 PM on Thursday to participate in the meeting. Accordingly, provincial police chiefs are continuing to arrive in Kathmandu. Generally, PCC meetings have been held with the participation of only DIGs and Additional Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) within the Kathmandu Valley. However, this time, DIGs from all seven provinces and SSPs within the valley have also been called.

It has been stated that the PCC meeting, considered important for policy decisions and building collective opinions within the police organization, will mainly discuss the state of peace and security, the organization’s internal management, and contemporary issues this time. IGP Karki has called the meeting at an unexpected time while reports are being made public that relations between the government and IGP Karki have deteriorated and that the Prime Minister wants to remove him from his position. However, further official information regarding the formal reason for calling the meeting and the relationship with the government has not been made public by Nepal Police Headquarters.
