Banking News – There has been a notable increase in the arrival of Indian tourists at the Lumbini Cable Car, which is developing as a major tourist destination in Lumbini Province. In fiscal year 2082/83, the number of Indian tourists increased by 24 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Chairman of the company, provided this information while presenting the annual report of the Board of Directors at the company’s 23rd Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday. According to Chairman Dhakal, Indian tourists account for 29 percent of the total tourists taking the cable car ride.

He stated that tourists from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh in India are increasingly visiting to see and tour the Kamakhya Devi and ancient Durga Temple located at Basantapur Danda in Palpa via the cable car. The report mentions that to attract Indian tourists, special arrangements have been made for transport drivers in border areas, and promotion through Indian vloggers has been intensified.

Similarly, the process of constructing a hotel with a five-star level casino at the cable car’s top station (Basantapur) has been advanced. Chairman Dhakal stated that the hotel’s design approval has reached the final stage, and the management of necessary drinking water supply has been partially completed. The company plans to add recreational infrastructure including a roller coaster, bouncy castle, and zero gravity ride in the upcoming fiscal year.

For market promotion, collaboration and ticket discount agreements have been made with more than 70 hotels in the Butwal and Bhairahawa areas, more than 40 organizations, more than 45 educational institutions, Bhatbhateni Supermarket, QFX Cinema, the Lumbini Development Trust, and Shankarnagar Wildlife Park. It was informed at the event that despite global geopolitics and market inflation, the company has been controlling costs and maintaining austerity while also contributing to the production of skilled technical manpower necessary for future cable car projects.
