Fourth National Banking Discourse 2026: Nabil Bank CEO Manoj Gyawali to Speak


Kathmandu, June 7, 2026 — The Fourth National Banking Discourse 2026 is set to feature Manoj Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank, as a keynote speaker in its first session, organizers announced.

Gyawali will participate in the opening discussion titled “How Long to Hold Idle Bank Deposits: How Can Business Confidence Be Strengthened?” The session will focus on strategies to mobilize idle funds in the banking system and enhance the confidence of entrepreneurs and businesses.

Born in Dailekh in 1977 BS, Gyawali has built a long career in Nepal’s banking sector. He previously served at Nepal Rastra Bank for five years as an assistant before entering commercial banking. Over the years, he has held senior leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer (CFO), CEO, Branch Manager, and executive committee member at Global IME Bank.

He has also served as Director and Managing Director at Global IME Capital for four years and worked as Deputy CEO and CEO at Jyoti Bikash Bank. He currently serves as Senior Deputy CEO of Nabil Bank.

In addition to his executive roles, Gyawali has contributed to industry leadership as General Secretary of the Development Bankers Association while working at Jyoti Bikash Bank. He is also a Chartered Accountant and previously served as Treasurer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants association.

Gyawali has been recognized with several awards, including the National Service Honor 2017 from Focus Nepal, the Economic Development Service Award 2018 from Citizen Society Nepal, the Student Orientation Recognition Award 2021 from Lumbini College, and the Outstanding Banking Leadership Award 2024. He has also visited multiple countries including India, China, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Germany.

The discourse is jointly organized by Banking News and Bank News. The event will be held on Jestha 27 and will include panel discussions on key topics such as increasing business confidence in banking, expanding agricultural investment, the role of banks, government and private sector collaboration, the future of banking with AI and cybersecurity, and the sustainability of development banks.
