Speaker Aryal Holds Courtesy Meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Nepal


Banking News— Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal, held a courtesy meeting with Fahad Mohammed A. Al-Manikh, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nepal, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Speaker Aryal said Nepal’s Federal Parliament is interested in strengthening institutional and constructive cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council. He also informed the ambassador that the Nepal–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group has recently been formed following a decision of the Federal Parliament, expressing confidence that the group would further enhance parliamentary cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

Aryal welcomed the growing collaboration between Nepal and Saudi Arabia in the field of labour migration, noting that Saudi Arabia remains one of the leading employment destinations for Nepali workers.

The Speaker also highlighted that Nepal and Saudi Arabia are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in March 2027. He expressed hope that the golden jubilee would be commemorated through meaningful programs and participatory events reflecting the strong partnership and shared commitment to deeper future cooperation between the two countries.

Emphasizing the potential for expanding bilateral economic cooperation, Aryal said Nepal expects greater investment and support from Saudi Arabia and other friendly nations in priority sectors such as infrastructure, information technology, energy, tourism, mining, and agriculture. He added that Nepal’s natural beauty, favorable climate, rich cultural heritage, and renowned hospitality make it an attractive destination for Saudi tourists.

Ambassador Al-Manikh reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations with Nepal. He said his country places high priority on cooperation with Nepal and expressed interest in expanding collaboration in labour, trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
