Banking News – Shuklaphanta Municipality in Kanchanpur has prohibited the operation of unauthorized mobile trading businesses without prior approval.

The municipality has warned that anyone found conducting business within its jurisdiction using transport vehicles without obtaining prior permission will face strict legal action under prevailing laws.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Khemraj Bista, the decision was taken following complaints about unauthorized trading activities being carried out through motorcycles, horse carts, rickshaws, mini trucks, and other vehicles without municipal approval.
The municipality said that most of those engaged in unauthorized mobile trading in local markets and rural areas are Indian nationals. Bista clarified that anyone found operating such businesses without prior approval would be subject to legal action.
In addition, the municipality has intensified efforts to make roads safer and free from hazards. It has discouraged the practice of tying livestock or storing construction materials including sand, gravel, stones, timber, bricks, and soil along roadsides and in other public areas.
The municipality has also urged residents not to dump construction materials on roads or excavate roadways without prior approval, stating that such activities obstruct traffic and increase the risk of accidents.
“Anyone found obstructing or damaging roads will face action under the Municipality’s Road Standards Procedure, 2076,” Chief Administrative Officer Bista said.
The municipality added that municipal police have been deployed to conduct regular monitoring and awareness campaigns aimed at removing road encroachments, preventing unauthorized trading, and promoting public compliance.
