Banking News – Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Birajbhakta Shrestha is leaving for Koshi Province today to inspect electricity and irrigation infrastructure. Minister Shrestha, along with his team, will depart for Biratnagar, the provincial capital of Koshi Province, at 1 PM today. The team will inspect the existing electricity problems in the eastern region, including the status of transmission lines and other infrastructure. Similarly, the team will also conduct on-site observation of irrigation access and canal conditions in the east, and formulate strategies for necessary improvements.

Important information in bold includes the departure time and destination, the composition of the minister’s team, and the key sites to be visited. The team accompanying Energy Minister Shrestha includes Secretary Sarita Dawadi, Joint Secretary Mohan Kumar Shakya, Private Secretary Sudarshan Shrestha, and Secretariat member Devesh Belbase from the ministry. Likewise, from the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, Director General Dr. Maheshwar Shrestha and Deputy Director General Dinesh Bhatta, along with Acting Director Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha from Nepal Electricity Authority, will also be joining. According to the minister’s secretariat, the three-day visit will include observation of the 400 kV Bhokraha Substation in Inaruwa and the Kerauna Substation. Similarly, a site visit will be conducted to the Barahkshetra Chatahara Canal, and there is also a program to inspect the historic Chandra Canal, a heritage of Nepal. Minister Shrestha had previously visited Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces to understand their problems firsthand.
