The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has reported extensive flooding across various areas of the city.The Kuleshwar fruit market has been severely affected, with flooding inundating the area. Details regarding the full extent of the damage are still being assessed.
In addition, water has penetrated the southern section of the Kuleshwar fruit and vegetable market, with concerns rising as it begins to affect the northern part as well. The Balkhu vegetable market has also suffered from flooding originating from Teku Dobhan. Moreover, burst pipes from the Melamchi water supply project in Machhapokhari have caused flooding in nearby shops.
Further complicating matters, the initial rain in Chobhar, Kirtinpur has led to the blocking of the Hetaunda Balkhu road section. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is continuing to monitor the situation and assess the damage caused by the ongoing rains.
