Banking News – Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal held a courtesy meeting with Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava at Singha Durbar on Thursday, where the two discussed Nepal–India relations, parliamentary cooperation, and regional connectivity.

During the meeting, Speaker Aryal noted that the government had completed its first 100 days in office and expressed gratitude to the Government of India for its support during Nepal’s recent elections.
He emphasized that Nepal–India relations are rooted in shared civilization, geographical proximity, and deep cultural and social ties, adding that bilateral cooperation has continued to strengthen through various institutional mechanisms in areas such as trade, security, civil aviation, water resources, and connectivity.
Speaker Aryal also highlighted that the exchange of high-level visits has further reinforced relations between the two neighboring countries. He expressed confidence that expanding air, rail, and cross-border bus services would deepen people-to-people ties and enhance overall connectivity, while voicing hope for additional transport links in the future.
The Speaker informed Ambassador Srivastava that he had extended an invitation to Om Birla, Speaker of India’s Lok Sabha, to visit Nepal and said Nepal looks forward to welcoming him at a mutually convenient time.
During the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava conveyed that Speaker Om Birla is interested in visiting Nepal. He also invited Nepal’s Speaker and Members of Parliament to visit India to study and observe the country’s parliamentary practices.
The Indian Ambassador stated that parliamentary diplomacy and high-level political dialogue play a vital role in further strengthening Nepal–India relations. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to continued cooperation with Nepal in areas including trade, connectivity, energy, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
