Banking News – Nepal’s government revenue collection recorded a notable increase in the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84 (2026/27), with total revenue reaching approximately Rs. 93.43 billion in Shrawan, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office.
The government’s total receipts increased by around 10 percent, or Rs. 8.24 billion, compared with the total receipts recorded during the first month of the previous fiscal year.

According to the office, tax revenue accounted for Rs. 85.19 billion, while non-tax revenue stood at Rs. 7.03 billion. The government also received approximately Rs. 240.3 million in foreign grant assistance during the first month.
For the current fiscal year, the government has set a target of collecting total revenue of Rs. 1.642 trillion.
Meanwhile, government expenditure during the first month of the fiscal year stood at Rs. 41.89 billion, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office. The government has allocated a total annual budget of Rs. 2.124 trillion for FY 2083/84, with spending in Shrawan accounting for 1.97 percent of the annual allocation.
Under the recurrent expenditure heading, the government has allocated Rs. 1.270 trillion for the fiscal year. By the end of Shrawan, Rs. 21.40 billion, or 1.68 percent of the allocation, had been spent.
Similarly, Rs. 431.01 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure, of which 0.31 percent had been spent by the end of Shrawan.
Under financial management, the government spent Rs. 19.15 billion during the first month, equivalent to 4.53 percent of the annual allocation under the heading.
