Banking News – The Election Commission has urged family members and concerned stakeholders to remove the names of deceased voters from the voter list and help keep the electoral roll updated. Election Commission Joint Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai issued a press statement making the appeal.
The commission said it has been regularly updating the voter list to make it accurate, current, reliable and objective. Following the death of a voter, a family member or any other concerned person can notify the relevant election office and request removal of the name by submitting the death registration certificate. The commission said maintaining an updated voter list is essential for ensuring the integrity, fairness and credibility of elections.

Voter registration and updating activities have continued since Chaitra 22, following the previous election. Citizens with a National Identity Card can register their names on the voter list online using their identity card details. Citizens without a National Identity Card must fill out the required form through the commission’s system and physically visit the concerned provincial or district election office to provide their photograph and biometric details, including fingerprints.
Similarly, applications can be submitted online to correct a voter’s name, surname or address, change the polling station to a more convenient location within the same ward, align voter details with citizenship records, and remove duplicate names from the voter list.
The Election Commission has also urged citizens to use its official website for information regarding voter registration, updating voter details and other related procedures.
